Over 20,000 students marched down the streets of Madrid to Peurta del Sol on the second day of a 48 hour-strike oganised by the Spanish Student Union Thursday. Protesters were demanding the resignation of Education Minister Jose Ignacio Wert along with an end to education austerity measures.
Protests against education cuts have been building momentum with Education Minister Wert at the focus of the movement. Wert enacted legislation that protesters say is a huge step towards the privatising of Spain's education.
