Around 1,500 protesters, many affiliated with the organisation 'Right Sector', circled the Verkhovna Rada in Kiev Thursday evening, threatening to storm the building. They demanded the resignation of Rada-appointed Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, after Right Sector co-ordinator Oleksandr Muzychko was killed in a police raid Tuesday.
The Verkhovna Rada will hold an emergency session Friday to discuss the possibility of Avakov's resignation. Right Sector activists have been urged to gather outside the building at 0900 local time (0700 GMT).
